Helping individuals succeed is our top priority! If you are a student athlete, parent or prospective Paramus Catholic attendee we want you to know that the football staff at Paramus Catholic is serious about academic achievement and providing the best opportunities for our student athletes.
We are intent on building strong skills on the field as well as off by training the body as well as the minds of our players and in the process building character, integrity, pride and commitment.
We instill in our players the importance of balancing competitive issues with academic issues. A player’s purpose for attending school at Paramus Catholic is education. Within that environment the next focus is to be out performing on the field.
The football program is devoted to creating strength in both sports as well as academic achievement. We are meticulous as far as monitoring the students who are participating with our team. We impart to our athletes that academics come first. In working together to help cultivate a strong individual both in the classroom and on the field, we do not tolerate academic or behavioral problems. The coaching staff does not approve of players who do not follow classroom rules or who fail to meet academic requirements for each course.
Due to the time demands on the student athlete and for those requiring special support, we have created a “learning center”. Our center consists of a study hall program every Monday through Thursday from 2:00pm – 2:45pm. During study hall we monitor and assist our players in achieving better grades. ALL football players are expected to attend to use this time for homework or to obtain additional support for classroom participation. We also meet with players one on one for individual counseling if needed.
Academic success is crucial to us. Without strong academic progress our team does not exist. The importance of education, awareness, interaction, prioritizing, social responsibility, nutrition, time management, and individual attention is ingrained within our team to show them what it takes to succeed. We strive to provide them with skills for life and knowledge that when the game ends and the glory fades, educated students will be the ultimate winners.
